Installing goal-line technology
Systems will typically take around a week to be installed in a venue, longer if there are challenging conditions. During the installation phase, the provider may need access to the pitch, floodlighting and all technical areas of the stadium. It is therefore essential that stadium management, the technical staff and the groundsmen are involved in the process from the start.
Taking the final installation test date as the deadline for a working system, planning should be done backwards to ensure the installing company has enough time. In stadiums with frequent use, it must be ensured that the provider will have enough time to calibrate in real match conditions. This requires full pitch access with competition goals, competition lighting and official field markings.
